In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last week or so, you can expect to be kept up-to-date on what everyone is (still) updating their Insta Story with. Enter: 418 Saint-Sulpice

For those of you who might not be familiar with the name of the several cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, Saint-Sulpice is right off the regal Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal and now home to the completely new SSENSE store. And it’s as jaw-droppingly good as you’d expect it to be.

As you step into the establishment that was built inside a heritage building – yes, you read correctly: a building within a building, you’re welcomed by store staff who give you the lowdown on what you can find on each floor. Brace yourself, there are 5 levels of major awesomeness. So, let’s start with the first floor where you will be immersed into the worlds of some of SSENSE’s designer picks of the moment. The selection of carefully curated pieces is set to change in order to be as current as possible in the representation of the brand’s editorial voice.

Onto level 2 where you will be awed by a pink-hued pool in which flowers float surrounded by Prada-decked-out mannequins. We dare you not to stare at the screens that showcase the exclusive store-opening performance by artist Arca in a never-ending loop. Honestly, we don’t know which was harder: keeping our eyes away from the screens or resisting the temptation of the SSENSE exclusive Arca x Prada pieces calling us.

Follow us as we take the concrete-walled stairs onto the levels 3 and 4. Welcome to the “appointment-only” levels where you will be greeted by stylish staff who have already personalized your changing room with your chosen items. No appointment? No problem. You can order whatever your heart desires from a 20-000+ item-virtual-closet that we like to call the SSENSE website.

Now, time to unwind and chill with some of Montreal’s most creative minds on the 5th floor where a restaurant run by the duo behind the restaurant Le Fantôme and a unique book room co-exist. While you wait for your green or orange juice and brioche toast, walk to the adjacent nook where you’ll be transported into a different realm thanks to one-of-a-kind books and of-the-moment accessories.
