Daydreaming of summer days is a thing of the past. Summer couldn’t be any closer thanks to day-drinking plans for the weekend already in the works. Don’t blame us, sunshine. We’ve been patiently waiting for you to shower us with your Vitamin-D magic. Since our first patio appearance will be one for the Instagram feed, we’re handing this hefty task to our current favourite designer: Jacquemus.
Enter a self-taught 28-year-old designer from the South of France who moved to the City of Lights right before starting a fashion label that would soon enough be worn by our favourite queens Beyoncé and Kim K. It comes as no surprise that his designs are pleasing these ladies with their conceptual simplicity.
Inspired by his late mother and “French Island Girls”, designer Simon Porte Jacquemus focused on perfecting the draping effect which can be witnessed through the work on his pieces from his recent SS18 collection entitled La Bomba. To put it simply, get ready to be swooned by a collection of runway pieces that encapsulate the beauty of summer – in other words, the amazingness of throwing on simple things with an edge. PSA: tanned legs are not included.
Whether you’re a streetwear gal like our main lady Kim K or a trendsetter like all-around goddess Beyoncé, you are sure to recognize the art that goes into the making of a garment like the Bahia Tunic (sorry ladies, it’s sold out) or the La Jupe Sol (phew, still avail). With a collection like this one under Simon Porte Jacquemus’ belt, we are pretty sure we’ve only started to hear about his masterpieces.
If we can give you a tip, it would be this one: start strategizing on which Jacquemus piece to add to your summer wardrobe. We’ve rounded up our favourites for you to browse. *Adds to cart*
